Representative Pete Aguilar, serving California’s 33rd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently expressed concerns regarding the economic impact of tariffs implemented by former President Donald Trump. Aguilar, who was born in Fontana, California, and currently resides in Redlands, voiced these opinions in a series of tweets.

On April 5, 2025, Aguilar highlighted the difficulties faced by small businesses due to the tariffs, mentioning specifically, "Trump’s reckless tariffs are crashing the economy. Small businesses like @RitualBrewing in Redlands are already getting squeezed. And it’s going to get worse for the American people."

Later the same day, on April 5, 2025, Aguilar reiterated his stance. He stated, "Trump’s reckless tariffs are hurting our small businesses and will drive up costs for hardworking Americans."

On April 7, 2025, Aguilar further expanded on these concerns, stating that small businesses are already feeling the pressure, and urged for a change in policy. He tweeted, "Small businesses are already bracing for impact as Trump’s tariffs crash our economy and drive up the costs of everyday goods. Donald Trump and Republicans need to walk away from these reckless tariffs."
