Between February 3 and February 9, 2025, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department conducted a targeted crime suppression operation named "Operation Consequences." This initiative involved investigators from the Gangs/Narcotics Division and deputies from patrol stations. The operation took place in San Bernardino and Twentynine Palms.

During this period, authorities served three search warrants and contacted individuals at various locations. They focused on gang members and individuals prohibited from possessing firearms. As a result of these efforts, two unserialized firearms, also known as ghost guns, were seized. Additionally, suspected methamphetamine was confiscated. The operation led to 11 felony arrests and 21 misdemeanor arrests.

The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors provided funding for county-wide crime suppression to enhance law enforcement services addressing quality-of-life issues in the community.

"Operation Consequences will focus on conducting targeted crime suppression operations in the High Desert and the Sheriff’s jurisdiction surrounding the city of San Bernardino," stated officials. It involves personnel from multiple divisions including the Sheriff's Gangs/Narcotics Division, Specialized Enforcement Division, patrol stations, California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino County Probation, United States Marshals Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force, and Department of Homeland Security Investigations.

This ongoing operation aims to curb violent crime by disrupting criminal street gangs and apprehending those involved in illegal firearm activities over several months.
