On February 3, 2025, deputies from the Victor Valley Station responded to a report of gunfire near the 11200 block of Auburn Avenue in Adelanto. Upon arrival, they found Maurice Davis, a 42-year-old resident of Adelanto, with severe gunshot wounds. Davis was taken to a local hospital where he later died.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail and the Specialized Enforcement Division have taken over the investigation. An autopsy is planned to determine the exact cause and manner of death.
Currently, no suspects have been identified. Authorities urge anyone with information about this case to contact the Homicide Detail at 909-890-4904. Anonymous tips can be submitted via We-Tip at 1-800-78-CRIME (27463) or wetip.com.
