On November 25, 2024, deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Station responded to a report of a man with injuries on Joliet Drive. Upon arrival, they found Josh Watson, who was then taken to a hospital where he later died despite lifesaving efforts.

Detectives from the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division took over the case. They discovered that Watson had been approached by a male at his home and suffered fatal injuries during this encounter. The suspect fled before authorities arrived.

The investigation led to identifying Paul Warren as the suspect in Watson's murder. A warrant for Warren's arrest was issued, and on December 9, 2024, he was arrested with help from the Philadelphia Police Department. Warren is currently in custody in Philadelphia awaiting extradition to California.

The investigation remains ongoing, and more information will be provided as it becomes available. Detective Eduardo Badillo can be contacted at (909) 890-4904 for any information related to this case. Anonymous tips can also be made through We-Tip at 1-800-78CRIME or www.wetip.com.
