Rancho Cucamonga man dies after encounter; suspect remains unknown

A Rancho Cucamonga resident, Joshua Watson, 43, died following an encounter with an unidentified male on November 25, 2024. Deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Station responded to a call about a man suffering injuries in the 13100 block of Joliet Drive at approximately 7:39 p.m. Upon arrival, they found Watson injured and unresponsive. He was taken to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries despite lifesaving efforts.

The Sheriff's Specialized Investigations Division's Homicide Detail is leading the investigation. Detectives learned that Watson had arrived home when he was approached by a male subject who inflicted fatal injuries during their interaction. The suspect fled before deputies reached the scene.
