On November 26, 2024, detectives from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department's Specialized Investigations Division - Crimes Against Children Detail conducted an investigation into the possession and distribution of child pornography. The investigation led to the identification of Nicholas Alejandro Diaz, a 52-year-old resident of Grand Terrace, as the suspect.

Diaz was arrested and booked into the Central Detention Center in San Bernardino. He faces charges for violating PC 288(A), which involves lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14, and PC 311.2(C), concerning the distribution of child pornography. His bail was set at $80,000.

The authorities are releasing Diaz’s booking photograph as they believe there may be additional victims. Diaz previously operated a foster family home where children were placed in his care, though no foster children were present during the investigation.
