On June 27, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m., deputies from the Fontana Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of a shooting in the 14100 block of Arrow Route. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Roger Albarran, a 52-year-old resident of Fontana, inside his vehicle with a gunshot wound. Albarran was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The investigation was taken over by the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail. Detectives determined that Albarran had been traveling north on Etiwanda in a Honda Civic when he became involved in a road rage incident with Abel Nunez-Alejandre, who was driving a GMC Yukon. During the altercation, Nunez-Alejandre allegedly fired a handgun at Albarran. The gunfire struck Albarran, causing him to lose control of his vehicle and collide with a parked car.

Nunez-Alejandre, identified as a 28-year-old resident of Eastvale, was located and arrested for murder. He has been booked into the West Valley Detention Center and remains without bail.

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding this investigation to contact the Homicide Detail at 909-890-4904. Those wishing to remain anonymous can contact We-Tip at 1-800-78-CRIME (27463) or visit wetip.com.
