The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department recently initiated "Operation Consequences" from March 2, 2024, through March 8, 2024, with a focus on targeted crime suppression in specific areas. Shannon D. Dicus, Sheriff-Coroner of San Bernardino County, highlighted the purpose of the operation, emphasizing the allocation of additional funds to enhance law enforcement services in the county.

During the operation, investigators from the Sheriff's Department, in collaboration with patrol stations, executed 12 search warrants and engaged suspects across different locations in Ontario, Yucca Valley, San Bernardino, and Desert Hot Springs. The efforts led to the apprehension of gang members and individuals prohibited from possessing firearms. As a result, authorities seized approximately three pounds of illegal narcotics and confiscated six firearms, including two ghost guns. Seven felony arrests were made during the operation.

Dicus underscored the significance of Operation Consequences, stating that it aims to address quality-of-life issues impacting communities in the county, particularly in the High Desert and areas surrounding San Bernardino. The operation involves various law enforcement agencies, including the Sheriff's Gangs/Narcotics Division, Specialized Enforcement Division, patrol stations, California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino County Probation, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, and Department of Homeland Security Investigations.
