REP. AGUILAR MAKES THIRD STOP ON COMMUNITY PROJECT FUNDING TOUR AT LAKE RIALTO HABITAT MANAGEMENT AND COMMUNITY OPEN SPACE PROJECT

Today, Rep. Pete Aguilar made the third stop of his Community Project Funding Tour at the City of Rialto’s Lake Rialto Habitat Management and Community Open Space project. Rep. Aguilar requested $2 million for this project to promote the use of recycled wastewater for habitat management and provide open green spaces for residents in the Inland Empire.

“I’m proud of our efforts to secure $2 million for this beneficial project for our endangered species and water quality improvement in the Inland Empire,” said Rep. Aguilar. “This funding was passed in the House, and I will keep working to ensure it passes the Senate and gets signed into law by President Biden.”

“We appreciate the support of Congressman Aguilar in helping advance the Lake Rialto project, which will provide so many benefits to our community and enhance, even further, the quality of life throughout Rialto and our region. We look forward to the day when residents and visitors are able to enjoy this incredible amenity,” said Mayor Deborah Robertson.

The Lake Rialto Habitat Management Community Open Space Project will improve water quality in the Santa Ana River and the downstream groundwater basins, and support habitats of two threatened species, the Santa Ana sucker and the Arroyo chub. The area surrounding Lake Rialto will also be a new public open space for walking and recreation, and provide educational programming to the public.
