On Sunday, July 7, 2024, deputies from the Apple Valley Police Department were dispatched to a residence in the 13500 block of Bordeaux Court. Upon arrival, they found family members and neighbors administering medical aid to Shaun Griffith, who had sustained a gunshot wound. Despite further assistance from deputies and emergency medical personnel, Griffith was pronounced deceased at a local hospital.
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division, Homicide Detail, took over the investigation. It was determined that Griffith's ex-girlfriend, April Green, had shot him at his home before fleeing in a vehicle. Deputies apprehended Green near Apple Valley Road and Sitting Bull Road without incident.
April Green has been arrested and booked into High Desert Detention Center on charges of PC 187-Murder. She is being held without bail and is scheduled to appear in Victorville Superior Court on July 9, 2024.
