On June 15, 2024, at approximately 9:24 a.m., deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department responded to a welfare check request on Kathryn Morales in the 9200 block of Milliken Avenue. The caller expressed concern after not hearing from Kathryn for several days.
Upon arrival, deputies entered the residence and discovered Kathryn Morales deceased under suspicious circumstances. Detectives from the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division, Homicide Detail, took over the investigation. Through their inquiries, they identified Brian Morales, Kathryn's son, as responsible for her death. Brian Morales was subsequently arrested and booked at the West Valley Detention Center on charges of PC 187-Murder.
