Inmate escapes from West Valley Detention Center; public asked for assistance

On June 16, 2024, at approximately 12:19 p.m., deputies at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga discovered that inmate Deshaun Stamps had escaped custody during an outside recreation period. Stamps has been in custody since January 30, 2023, for attempted murder. A search for Stamps is currently underway.

Stamps is described as a black male adult, 5’11” tall, approximately 170 pounds, with green eyes. He is bald and has tattoos on his neck and head. It is unknown what clothing he may be wearing at this time.

Anyone with information on Stamps’ whereabouts is urged to call 911. "Do not attempt to make contact with Stamps," authorities advised. Callers wishing to remain anonymous are encouraged to call the We-Tip Hotline at 1-800-78CRIME (27463) or leave information on the We-Tip website at www.wetip.com.
