Between June 1 and June 7, 2024, investigators from the Sheriff’s Gangs/Narcotics Division, Specialized Enforcement Division, and multiple patrol stations, along with personnel from various law enforcement agencies, continued targeted crime suppression efforts under Operation Consequences.
The coordinated effort included serving 20 search warrants in San Bernardino, Adelanto, Hesperia, Victorville, and Apple Valley. During these operations, investigators contacted gang members and individuals prohibited from possessing firearms. A total of 29 firearms were seized, including six ghost guns. Additionally, 23 felony arrests were made.
The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors has authorized funds to support county-wide crime suppression. This funding aims to enhance the Sheriff’s Department's ability to address quality-of-life issues affecting local communities.
Operation Consequences will focus on targeted crime suppression operations and parole and probation checks in the High Desert and surrounding areas within the Sheriff's jurisdiction. The operation involves personnel from various divisions of the Sheriff's Department as well as other law enforcement agencies such as California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino County Probation. The United States Marshals Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force and Department of Homeland Security Investigations are also participating.
The initiative will continue over the next several months with the goal of curbing violent crime, disrupting criminal street gangs, and apprehending individuals involved in illegal firearm activities.
