From May 11 to May 17, 2024, a concerted crime suppression effort named Operation Consequences was conducted in various locations across San Bernardino County. The operation involved investigators from the Sheriff’s Gangs/Narcotics Division, Specialized Enforcement Division, and multiple patrol stations. Personnel from California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino County Probation, Ontario Police Department, Upland Police Department, and Department of Homeland Security Investigations also participated.

During this one-week period, which included a focused operation on May 17 in the High Desert region, law enforcement served 20 search warrants in areas including San Bernardino, Adelanto, Hesperia, Victorville, and Apple Valley. In these operations, investigators made contact with gang members and individuals prohibited from possessing firearms. A total of 29 firearms were seized during these contacts. This haul included six ghost guns and resulted in 51 felony arrests.

The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors has authorized funds to assist with county-wide crime suppression efforts. The aim is to provide additional funding to the Sheriff’s Department for increased law enforcement services related to quality-of-life issues affecting communities within the county.

Operation Consequences will continue over the coming months focusing on targeted crime suppression operations and parole and probation checks in the High Desert area as well as Sheriff's jurisdiction surrounding the city of San Bernardino. The operation will involve personnel from several law enforcement agencies with an aim to curb violent crime, disrupt and dismantle targeted criminal street gangs, and locate and arrest criminals who are illegally possessing, manufacturing, and trafficking firearms.

For further information about Operation Consequences or any other related matters please refer to the Public Affairs Division at (909) 387-3700 or consult case numbers ranging from 662400311 through 662400353.

Sheriff-Coroner Shannon D. Dicus of the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department oversees these operations.
