Between April 13 and April 19, 2024, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department carried out Operation Consequences, a targeted crime suppression initiative in various locations across Hesperia, San Bernardino, and Rialto. According to Shannon D. Dicus, Sheriff-Coroner of the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department, the operation resulted in significant seizures and arrests.

During the operation, investigators recovered over one pound of illegal narcotics and seized 10 firearms, including a ghost gun. Shannon D. Dicus highlighted that "five felony arrests were made" as a result of the operation. The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors allocated funds to support county-wide crime suppression efforts, aiming to enhance law enforcement services in the region.

Operation Consequences involved personnel from multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Sheriff’s Gangs/Narcotics Division, Specialized Enforcement Division, patrol stations, California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino County Probation, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, and Department of Homeland Security Investigations. The operation is part of a long-term strategy to combat violent crime, dismantle criminal street gangs, and apprehend individuals involved in illegal firearms activities.

Overall, Operation Consequences is a proactive measure to address quality-of-life issues affecting communities in San Bernardino County. With a focus on suppressing crime in the High Desert and surrounding areas, the operation underscores the commitment of law enforcement agencies to ensure public safety and combat criminal activities in the region.
