Law enforcement agencies in San Bernardino County have recently concluded a week-long operation aimed at suppressing crime in various locations. The initiative, known as Operation Consequences, involved multiple agencies and resulted in significant outcomes.
Throughout the operation, which took place from April 6 to April 12, 2024, a total of 17 search warrants were executed in several areas, including Hesperia, Victorville, Barstow, Apple Valley, Phelan, and San Bernardino. This led to the recovery of illegal narcotics and the seizure of 52 firearms, including 22 ghost guns. Additionally, 36 felony arrests were made as part of the crackdown.
The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors has approved additional funding to support ongoing crime suppression efforts. This funding will enable the Sheriff's Department to enhance law enforcement services addressing community quality-of-life concerns within the county.
Operation Consequences is set to continue in the coming months with a focus on targeted crime suppression operations, as well as parole and probation checks in the High Desert and surrounding areas of San Bernardino. The operation involves various law enforcement divisions and agencies, including the Sheriff’s Gangs/Narcotics Division, Specialized Enforcement Division, California Highway Patrol, and San Bernardino County Probation, among others.
Sheriff-Coroner Shannon D. Dicus emphasized the objectives of Operation Consequences, stating that the initiative aims to combat violent crime, disrupt criminal street gangs, and apprehend individuals involved in illegal firearm activities. The operation underscores a concerted effort to maintain public safety and uphold the law in the region.
