San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office has identified the man who perished in a recent plane crash as 35-year-old Blake E. Broadbent from Riverside. The tragic incident occurred on April 13, 2024, in a mountain area north of Devil’s Canyon, San Bernardino.
Witnesses in the north end of San Bernardino reported hearing the plane sputter and then a loud crash on the fateful evening of April 13, 2024. Following the disturbing sound, a red flash was observed, leading to concerns about a potential crash.
Search and rescue efforts were hindered by the inaccessible terrain, preventing immediate access to the crash site. Despite challenges posed by the weather, the Sheriff’s Aviation Division managed to locate a debris field the following morning, leading to the discovery of a deceased adult male.
The identity of the victim, Blake E. Broadbent, was confirmed by the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office. The National Transportation Safety Board has taken over the investigation into the tragic plane crash, with ongoing efforts to determine the cause of the incident.
