Homicide Detectives Begin Investigation to Identify a Suspect in a Highland Murder

On Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at 3:12 a.m., deputies from the Highland Sheriff’s Station responded to an apartment complex in the 7300 block of Sterling Avenue, in Highland, for the report of shots heard. When deputies arrived, they discovered the victim, identified as Garron Hathale, lying in the street with a gunshot wound. Hathale was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Detectives conducted a neighborhood check but did not locate any witnesses. The investigation is ongoing, and the suspect remains at large.

In a statement, authorities urged the public for any assistance in the case, stating, "Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact the Homicide Division at 909-890-4904."

The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department is leading the investigation, with Detective B. Becker overseeing the case.
