The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department has initiated Operation Consequences from March 16 to March 22, 2024, to address targeted crime suppression in various locations. The operation involved serving search warrants and contacting suspects in Riverside, Adelanto, and San Bernardino.
During the operation, investigators made significant progress in combating criminal activities. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, approximately 17 pounds of illegal narcotics and nine firearms were seized, leading to the arrest of six individuals involved in felony offenses.
In response to the ongoing criminal challenges, the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors approved additional funding to support law enforcement efforts aimed at enhancing the quality of life in the community. The Board stated, "The intent is to provide additional funding to the Sheriff’s Department, allowing for increased law enforcement services related to quality-of-life issues affecting the communities in our county."
Furthermore, the Sheriff’s Department outlined that Operation Consequences is strategically designed to target crime suppression operations in the High Desert and surrounding areas of San Bernardino. The initiative will involve collaboration with multiple agencies, including the Sheriff’s Gangs/Narcotics Division, Specialized Enforcement Division, patrol stations, California Highway Patrol, and other law enforcement entities.
Sheriff-Coroner Shannon D. Dicus emphasized the focus of Operation Consequences, stating, "Operation Consequences will focus on conducting targeted crime suppression operations in the High Desert and the Sheriff’s jurisdiction surrounding the city of San Bernardino."
Operation Consequences is part of a broader effort to curb violent crime, dismantle criminal street gangs, and apprehend individuals engaged in illegal firearms activities. The operation is expected to continue over the coming months with a dedicated focus on enhancing public safety and reducing criminal activities in the region.
