My students study Shakespeare. Freshmen read Romeo and Juliet and Seniors read Hamlet. I am having my students use the book-making materials (hardbound journals and watercolor pencils) to create a book of song lyrics, pictures, comic strips, poetry or court reporting for each of the scenes from the Shakespearean play that we are reading. The books will be colorful and will help them conceptualize the language in a different format.
