On Tuesday, February 25, 2025, authorities arrested Chantalle Jaramillo, a bilingual assistant at Oak Hills High School in Hesperia, on charges related to child sex crimes. The arrest followed an investigation by detectives from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department's Specialized Investigations Division - Crimes Against Children Detail.

Jaramillo, aged 36 and a resident of Victorville, faces charges under PC 288.3(a) for contacting a minor to commit a sex act, PC 287(b)(1) for oral copulation of a person under 18 years, and PC 261.5(c) for unlawful sex with a minor three or more years younger than the defendant. She was booked into the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto with bail set at $150,000.

The investigation began on December 10, 2024, after allegations surfaced about inappropriate conduct with a minor. Detectives are concerned there may be additional victims and have released Jaramillo’s booking photograph to the public.
