Rep. Pete Aguilar, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing California's 33rd District since 2015, recently shared his views on economic issues and community initiatives through a series of tweets. Aguilar criticized Republican policies, highlighted local volunteer efforts, and commented on economic challenges.
On January 31, 2025, Rep. Aguilar addressed the issue of pricing promises made by Republicans. He stated that "Republicans told the American people that prices will go down on 'day one.'" However, he claimed they now admit to having no plan to lower prices and accused them of focusing on tax giveaways for billionaires at the expense of Americans.
Later that day, Aguilar tweeted about his participation in delivering meals with Meals on Wheels to seniors in San Bernardino. He noted that "they delivered almost 600,000 meals last year." Aguilar expressed concern over what he termed the "Republican Rip Off," which he argued would divert federal tax dollars from programs like Meals on Wheels to fund tax cuts for billionaires.
In another tweet posted the same day, Aguilar discussed economic priorities and their impact on prices. He remarked that ""Temporary disruption" means higher prices for the American people." He suggested that these disruptions could lead to increased living costs under current economic strategies.
