A woman from Twentynine Palms, identified as 51-year-old Hiroko Nagao, was found dead eight days after she was reported missing. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department, Nagao’s husband left their home in the 74000 block of Aztec Avenue around noon on October 23, 2025. When he returned later that day, he could not find his wife, though her personal belongings were still at the residence. He then contacted sheriff’s dispatch to report her missing.

On October 31, at about 1:00 p.m., Nagao’s body was discovered by her husband on their property. Deputies from the Morongo Station responded and began an investigation at the scene.

The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail took over the case. The department stated that “this investigation is pending the outcome of an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.”
