Between June 30 and July 6, 2025, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department conducted a targeted crime suppression operation known as Operation Consequences. The initiative involved investigators from the Gangs/Narcotics Division, deputies from patrol stations, and personnel from partnering agencies who executed two search warrants in San Bernardino and Colton.
The operation also saw the involvement of the San Bernardino Movement Against Street Hoodlums (SMASH) Street Enforcement Team, which conducted proactive patrols in San Bernardino and nearby areas. During this period, authorities contacted gang members and individuals prohibited from possessing firearms. One ghost gun was seized along with suspected methamphetamine. The operation resulted in six felony arrests and seven misdemeanor arrests.
Funding for this county-wide crime suppression effort was authorized by the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors to enhance law enforcement services addressing quality-of-life issues within the community.
Operation Consequences aims to conduct targeted crime suppression activities in the High Desert area and surrounding jurisdictions of San Bernardino. It involves personnel from various divisions including the Sheriff’s Gangs/Narcotics Division, Specialized Enforcement Division, California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino Police Department, San Bernardino County Probation, United States Marshals Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force, and Department of Homeland Security Investigations. This ongoing operation seeks to curb violent crime by disrupting criminal street gangs and arresting those illegally involved with firearms.
