Suspected human remains found during Victorville fire investigation

On May 27, 2025, deputies in Victorville responded to a structure fire at a residence on Chia Court. Upon arrival, they found a shed in the backyard engulfed in flames. Fire personnel extinguished the blaze and discovered two suspected human mandibles during their investigation.

The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division took over the case. Detectives found additional suspected human bones at the scene. All remains were sent to the Coroner’s Office for an autopsy to determine if they are human and to attempt identification of the deceased.
