Suspect arrested after fatal shooting in Lucerne Valley

Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call regarding an unknown problem at a residence in the 102700 block of Alamo Street, Lucerne Valley, early Tuesday morning. Upon arrival at approximately 3:34 a.m. on August 26, 2025, deputies found Brian Frash, a 36-year-old resident of Lucerne Valley, deceased inside a bedroom with multiple gunshot wounds.

The department’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail took over the investigation. Detectives determined that a verbal altercation had taken place between Frash and Arthur Archuleta, who also lived at the residence, prior to the shooting. Archuleta, age 70 and also a resident of Lucerne Valley, was arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for murder under Penal Code 187. He is being held without bail.
