Man arrested for attempted murder after stabbing on Adelanto bus

On January 26, 2025, a suspect was arrested for attempted murder following a stabbing incident on a bus in Adelanto, California. The altercation occurred near the intersection of US Highway 395 and Palmdale Road. Victor Valley Transit Authority employees reported the fight between two passengers, prompting a response from deputies Geoffrey Solorio and Trevor James of the Sheriff's Victor Valley Transit Detail.

The suspect, identified as 27-year-old Randy Angel Serpa III from Adelanto, was apprehended at the scene. The victim, an adult male whose identity remains confidential, sustained multiple stab wounds to his head and torso. He was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Randy Serpa has been charged with attempted murder and is currently held at the High Desert Detention Center with bail set at $1,000,000. Authorities have stated that this was an isolated incident on the VVTA bus and confirmed that no other passengers or transit employees were harmed.
