Between November 16 and November 22, 2024, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department conducted a series of targeted crime suppression operations known as "Operation Consequences." The operation involved investigators from the Gangs/Narcotics Division and deputies from patrol stations who executed four search warrants across various locations in San Bernardino, Bloomington, and Ontario.

During this week-long initiative, law enforcement officials focused on contacting gang members and individuals prohibited from possessing firearms. The operation resulted in the seizure of 36 firearms, including 23 ghost guns. Additionally, over 24 pounds of fentanyl were recovered, leading to 22 felony arrests.

The operation was supported by funds authorized by the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors for county-wide crime suppression efforts. These funds aim to enhance law enforcement services addressing quality-of-life issues within the community.

"Operation Consequences will focus on conducting targeted crime suppression operations in the High Desert and the Sheriff’s jurisdiction surrounding the city of San Bernardino," according to a statement. It involves collaboration with multiple agencies including personnel from the Sheriff's Gangs/Narcotics Division, Specialized Enforcement Division, patrol stations, California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino County Probation, United States Marshals Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force, and Department of Homeland Security Investigations.

The ongoing operation aims to curb violent crime by disrupting criminal street gangs and arresting individuals involved in illegal firearm activities.
