Between November 2 and November 8, 2024, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department conducted targeted crime suppression operations in Highland and Hesperia. The operation, known as "Operation Consequences," involved investigators from the department's Gangs/Narcotics Division and deputies from patrol stations.

During this period, authorities served two search warrants and engaged with suspects at various locations. The effort resulted in the seizure of five firearms and one felony arrest. The initiative was part of a broader county-wide crime suppression strategy funded by the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors. This funding aims to enhance law enforcement services addressing quality-of-life issues within the community.

"Operation Consequences will focus on conducting targeted crime suppression operations in the High Desert and the Sheriff’s jurisdiction surrounding the city of San Bernardino," stated officials. The operation involves multiple agencies, including personnel from the Sheriff's Gangs/Narcotics Division, Specialized Enforcement Division, California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino County Probation, United States Marshals Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force, and Department of Homeland Security Investigations.

The goal is to curb violent crime by disrupting criminal street gangs and apprehending individuals illegally possessing or trafficking firearms. This ongoing operation is set to continue over several months.
