On September 6, 2024, at approximately 12:09 p.m., deputies from Chino Hills responded to a residence on the 11400 block of Hartford Lane in unincorporated Montclair. The response followed a report indicating that Martin Torres-Espindola had allegedly killed his wife, Maria Torres.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered Maria Torres inside the home with stab wounds. Emergency medical personnel pronounced her deceased at the scene. Martin Torres-Espindola was also found inside the house with self-inflicted injuries. He was transported to a hospital for treatment and subsequently released.
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail took over the investigation. Following their inquiry, Martin Torres-Espindola was arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center, where he remains without bail.
