Two arrested for murder of Hesperia teen following investigation

On August 19, 2024, at approximately 6:48 a.m., Hesperia Station deputies responded to a call regarding suspicious circumstances in a dirt field southeast of Sultana Street and Escondido Avenue. Upon arrival, deputies found Aaron Neal, a 19-year-old resident of Hesperia, deceased with evident signs of trauma.

Detectives from the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division-Homicide Detail took over the investigation. It was determined that Neal had been shot with a firearm. The suspects identified were Demetriel Richine Tyler, 21, and Elaina Nicole Norman, 20, both residents of Hesperia and known to Neal.

Tyler and Norman were taken into custody without incident during the execution of a search warrant at Tyler's residence. They were booked at High Desert Detention Center on charges of PC 187 – Murder.
