Stabbing incident in Bloomington market results in one death; suspect arrested

On August 17, 2024, at approximately 5:13 p.m., deputies from the Fontana Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of a stabbing at Los Coras Sea Food Market on 6th Street in Bloomington. Upon arrival, deputies found Octavio Tarin, a 43-year-old resident of San Bernardino, outside the business with stab wounds. American Medical Response pronounced Tarin deceased at the scene.

The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail took over the investigation. A second victim, a confidential male adult aged 45 and also a resident of San Bernardino, was located at a hospital receiving treatment for stab wounds.

Deputies identified Jesus Ramirez, a 43-year-old resident of Riverside, as the suspect. On August 18, 2024, investigators and deputies from the Specialized Enforcement Division (SWAT) apprehended Ramirez at his Riverside residence. He was booked into the West Valley Detention Center without bail.
