On August 10, 2024, at approximately 1:12 a.m., deputies from the Sheriff’s Central Station observed a motorcycle traveling near North Leroy Street and 23rd Street in San Bernardino. When deputies attempted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation, the driver, later identified as Albert Park, failed to yield, leading to a pursuit.
Park drove to a residence in the 2000 block of North Sierra Way, abandoned the motorcycle, and ran to the porch of the residence. Park was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun. When deputies contacted Park, a lethal force encounter occurred. Park was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division responded to the scene and assumed control of the investigation. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. The investigation remains ongoing.
