Suspect arrested in Las Vegas for double homicide in Victorville

On Sunday, July 28, 2024, at 9:18 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Station responded to a residence in the 12400 block of San Jacinto Drive following a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, deputies discovered that a verbal argument between Donnie Griffin and his family had escalated into an assault.

During the altercation, Cody McFann and Melissa Quintero arrived at the location. A physical confrontation ensued between them and Griffin. Subsequently, Griffin armed himself with a firearm and pursued McFann and Quintero. He shot and killed both individuals before fleeing the scene. McFann and Quintero were pronounced dead at the location.

The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail took over the investigation. Detectives determined that Griffin was in Las Vegas, leading to a warrant for his arrest. On Wednesday, July 31, 2024, Homicide detectives collaborated with Las Vegas Metro Police and the U.S. Marshal’s Office to apprehend Griffin. He was booked into a jail in Las Vegas pending extradition to California.
