Senator Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh (R-Yucaipa) recently presented the American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) California Girls State with a ceremonial check for a $5,000 grant from Women in California Leadership. Senator Ochoa Bogh played a key role in deciding the allocation of the grant funds and selected ALA CA Girls State for their notable girls' leadership program.
“Presenting the ALA California Girls State with a $5,000 grant check was an absolute honor,” said Senator Ochoa Bogh. “I strongly support this girls' leadership program because they teach the importance of civic engagement and participation, and inspire our next generation of policy leaders. Congratulations on receiving this grant.”
ALA California Girls State is a leadership program sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary Department of California. It aims to increase awareness and knowledge of governmental processes while educating participants about the duties, privileges, rights, and responsibilities of citizenship. Delegates gain a greater appreciation for the American Flag and recognize the sacrifices made by veterans.
Women in California Leadership is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting public awareness regarding the critical significance of women in California. The organization supports diverse interests involving women, children, and families throughout the state.
