Between March 23 and March 29, 2024, a targeted crime suppression operation known as Operation Consequences was carried out in various locations in Hesperia, Highland, San Bernardino, and Ontario. According to Shannon D. Dicus, Sheriff-Coroner of the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department, the operation resulted in significant outcomes.
During the operation, investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department – Gangs/Narcotics Division, along with deputies from patrol stations, executed 9 search warrants and engaged with suspects. As a result, approximately two and one-half pounds of illegal narcotics were confiscated, and a total of 170 firearms, including two ghost guns, were seized. Six felony arrests were made during the operation.
The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors provided funds for county-wide crime suppression, allowing for increased law enforcement services to address quality-of-life issues affecting the communities in the county. Operation Consequences is aimed at conducting targeted crime suppression in the High Desert and the areas surrounding the city of San Bernardino. The operation involves personnel from various law enforcement agencies, including the Sheriff’s Gangs/Narcotics Division, Specialized Enforcement Division, patrol stations, California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino County Probation, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, and Department of Homeland Security Investigations.
Operation Consequences is a long-term initiative that will continue over the next several months with the goal of curbing violent crime, disrupting and dismantling criminal street gangs, and apprehending individuals involved in illegal possession, manufacturing, and trafficking of firearms.
