Senator Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh proudly announced that the Legislature has approved Senate Concurrent Resolution 59, designating the overcrossing on State Route 210 at Archibald Avenue in the City of Rancho Cucamonga as the “Senator Bob Dutton Memorial Overcrossing.”
“Senator Dutton was a public servant who dedicated his life to Rancho Cucamonga and San Bernardino County. He represented the best of what the Inland Empire has to offer,” said Senator Ochoa Bogh. “His passing has deeply impacted our community. I hope that this dedication will be seen by his loved ones on their daily travels, letting them know that he is forever remembered for his commitment to public service.”
Sen. Dutton, who served in the California State Assembly and Senate, was known for his dedication to public service, as well as his passion for various issues, such as housing, transportation, fiscal responsibility, and defending taxpayers. He even championed causes close to his heart, like the successful effort to pardon Snickers, an orphaned black bear in his district.
Throughout his career, Sen. Dutton received numerous accolades, including Legislator of the Year by various organizations and worked closely with community and civic groups in his area. His commitment to serving the people of Rancho Cucamonga and San Bernardino County over five decades earned him the nickname “RC Bob.”
After a long battle with cancer, Sen. Dutton passed away on July 23, 2022, leaving behind a legacy of service and dedication to his community. Senator Ochoa Bogh expressed her gratitude to her colleagues for recognizing Sen. Dutton's work and extended a special thank you to his wife, Andrea, for sharing him with the community.
In conclusion, Senator Ochoa Bogh remarked, “We should all strive to replicate his commitment to his community and towards improving the lives of all Californians.”
