REP. AGUILAR PARTICIPATES IN RIDE-A-LONG WITH LOCAL UPS DRIVERS

Rep. Pete Aguilar today participated in ride-a-long with UPS drivers in San Bernardino to get a firsthand look at the region’s vital logistics industry and better understand the supply chain disruptions impacting working families.

“Our UPS drivers work hard each and every day to keep us connected and ensure that local businesses have the goods they need to be successful,” Rep. Aguilar said. “The logistics industry has been severely impacted by the pandemic and supply chain disruptions, which is why I’m focused on passing legislation to strengthen our nation’s supply chains and lower costs for working families. We passed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which will help fix the roads, bridges and ports that the logistics industry relies on every day. And, today, President Biden signed into law the Bipartisan CHIPS and Science Act, which invests in domestic semiconductor manufacturing to help lower the costs of goods like cars and electronics.”

“I am proud that UPS stands as an example of a company doing great things in business and the environment and we do it because it is good for our workforce, our customers and our communities,” Michael St. Onge- Government Outreach Ambassador. “We are excited to have Congressman Pete Aguilar come out to our San Bernardino facility and experience what “a day in the life of a UPS driver is all about.”

Using a UPS electric vehicle, Rep. Aguilar made stops at JDI Distribution, the largest UPS store franchise in California located in Loma Linda, and the California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) Student Union.
