Senator Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh has provided an update on her recent work in the California State Senate, emphasizing her commitment to transparency and community engagement. She stated, “It is an honor to serve as your representative in the California State Senate. I do not take this responsibility lightly. Public service is about listening first, then leading with integrity, humility, and vision. My role is to be a voice for you, have an open door for all, and to ensure government remains accountable to the people it serves.”
Since COVID-19 restrictions were lifted, Senator Ochoa Bogh reported hosting over 80 town halls throughout her district. She explained these events are opportunities for direct communication with residents: “These are not just routine events. They are meaningful opportunities to hear directly from you. They are where tough questions are asked, real conversations happen, and where trust is built between elected officials and the communities we represent.” The senator highlighted that her district covers a large geographic area but said this has increased her focus on engaging with constituents across diverse communities.
In 2025, Senator Ochoa Bogh introduced 16 bills; five became law. These new laws address issues such as protecting stalking victims by strengthening legal definitions, improving access to information for Medi-Cal recipients in skilled nursing facilities, maintaining support at school for students with special healthcare needs, ensuring fairer construction payment processes on private projects, and supporting courthouse infrastructure in San Bernardino County.
She also secured funding for regional priorities: $10 million was allocated for California Indian Nations College in Palm Desert; $4 million was directed toward oversight of long-term care facilities; and $500,000 went toward structural improvements at a local fertility clinic serving Inland Empire families.
Senator Ochoa Bogh coauthored bipartisan legislation aimed at increasing government transparency by prohibiting nondisclosure agreements that conceal legislative spending from public view. She remarked: “Californians deserve to know how their money is used and who is making decisions on their behalf. Open government is good government.”
Her office participated in more than 400 community meetings and events last year and assisted constituents with over 600 cases involving state agencies or services.
“If you would like to stay connected with my work,” she added, “I invite you to visit my website at sr19.senate.ca.gov and follow my social media pages (@SenOchoaBogh) where you can sign up for my newsletter and find more information about legislation and local events. Your input matters. Your voice matters. And I welcome your continued partnership.”
Senator Ochoa Bogh was recently recognized as the top performing Republican in the California State Senate by the Center for Effective Lawmaking.
