Senator Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh announced on May 1 her appointment to the Senate Rules Committee, which oversees the operations and procedures of the California State Senate.
The appointment is significant because the Rules Committee plays a central role in evaluating nominees for state agencies, commissions, and schools. This process helps shape leadership across many areas of state government.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve on the Rules Committee. This role allows me to meet and evaluate nominees for state agencies, commissions, and schools, and to better understand the issues they face. I look forward to contributing where I can,” said Senator Ochoa Bogh. “It’s an honor to serve alongside Senate leaders, including Senate President pro Tempore Monique Limón, and to be part of the broader structure of state government.”
In addition to her new position on the Rules Committee, Ochoa Bogh continues serving on several other committees that cover a range of policy areas. These include Budget & Fiscal Review; Budget Subcommittee #1 on Education; Education (Vice Chair); Energy, Utilities and Communications (Vice Chair); Governmental Organization; Housing; Human Services (Vice Chair); Joint Legislative Budget; and Privacy, Digital Technologies, and Consumer Protection.
Each committee has specific responsibilities such as reviewing budget proposals in education or handling legislation related to energy companies or housing programs. The Joint Legislative Budget committee makes recommendations regarding state finances while committees like Privacy focus on issues such as artificial intelligence.
Ochoa Bogh’s continued service across these various committees highlights her involvement in shaping key legislative decisions affecting Californians.
