Second suspect arrested in Yucaipa murder case

On May 31, 2025, deputies from the Yucaipa station responded to a report of a man down in the Oak Glen wash area. Upon arrival, they found Kenneth Xiong, a 19-year-old resident of Fresno, with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives from the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division took over the investigation. Dennis Wright, a 21-year-old resident of Yucaipa, was identified as a suspect and arrested on June 1, 2025. He was booked at the Central Detention Center for PC-187 Murder.

Further investigation led to the identification of Kyle Heller as a second suspect in Xiong’s murder. Heller, aged 20 and also from Yucaipa, was arrested and booked at the West Valley Detention Center for PC-187 Murder on June 4, 2025.
