Between June 9 and June 15, 2025, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department conducted a targeted crime suppression operation named “Operation Consequences.” The operation involved investigators from the Gangs/Narcotics Division, deputies from various patrol stations, and personnel from several agencies including San Bernardino Probation, San Bernardino Police Department, California Highway Patrol (CHP), and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).

During this period, authorities served four search warrants and contacted individuals throughout the county. Their efforts led to the seizure of 23 firearms, including three ghost guns. Additionally, suspected methamphetamine and cocaine were confiscated. The operation resulted in seven felony arrests and four misdemeanor arrests.

This initiative follows California’s Proposition 36 titled “The Homelessness, Drug Addiction and Theft Reduction Act,” passed by voters on November 5, 2024. Effective December 18, 2024, this proposition reforms laws related to homelessness, drug addiction, and theft. It introduces new Penal and Health and Safety Codes that can enhance sentencing for offenders during arrests.

The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors has authorized funds for county-wide crime suppression efforts aimed at addressing quality-of-life issues in local communities. Operation Consequences is part of these efforts focusing on targeted crime suppression in the High Desert region and areas under the Sheriff’s jurisdiction around San Bernardino city.

The operation will involve personnel from multiple divisions within law enforcement agencies including the Sheriff’s Gangs/Narcotics Division, Specialized Enforcement Division as well as federal partners like the United States Marshals Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force. This ongoing initiative aims to curb violent crime by disrupting criminal street gangs and apprehending individuals involved in illegal firearm activities.
