Between September 22 and September 28, 2025, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department led a targeted crime suppression operation named “Operation Consequences.” The effort involved the department’s Gangs/Narcotics Division, deputies from patrol stations, and personnel from partner agencies. Four search warrants were served in various locations across the county, including Apple Valley, Victorville, and San Bernardino.

The San Bernardino Movement Against Street Hoodlums (SMASH) Street Enforcement Team also conducted proactive patrols in Apple Valley and nearby areas. During this week-long operation, investigators made contact with gang members and individuals who are prohibited from possessing firearms. As a result of these activities, law enforcement seized 15 firearms—one of which was identified as a ghost gun—and made nine felony arrests.

Funding for Operation Consequences was authorized by the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors to support county-wide crime suppression efforts. The funding is intended to provide additional resources to the Sheriff’s Department to address quality-of-life issues affecting local communities.

According to the department, “Operation Consequences will focus on conducting targeted crime suppression operations in the High Desert and the Sheriff’s jurisdiction surrounding the city of San Bernardino. The operation will include personnel from the Sheriff’s Gangs/Narcotics Division, Specialized Enforcement Division, patrol stations, California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino Police Department, San Bernardino County Probation, and Department of Homeland Security Investigations. Operation Consequences will take place over the next several months to curb violent crime, disrupt and dismantle targeted criminal street gangs, and locate and arrest criminals who are illegally possessing, manufacturing, and trafficking firearms.”

For more information about this operation or future activities related to it, community members are encouraged to contact the Public Affairs Division at (909) 387-3700.
