Between July 28 and August 3, 2025, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department led a targeted crime suppression effort called Operation Consequences. Investigators from the department’s Gangs/Narcotics Division, deputies from patrol stations, and staff from partner agencies served four search warrants in San Bernardino and Hesperia. The San Bernardino Movement Against Street Hoodlums (SMASH) Street Enforcement Team also conducted proactive patrols in Highland and nearby areas.

During this period, investigators contacted gang members and individuals who are prohibited from possessing firearms. Authorities seized one firearm and confiscated suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl. Eight felony arrests and eight misdemeanor arrests were made during the operation.

Funding for county-wide crime suppression was authorized by the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors to support increased law enforcement services related to quality-of-life issues within local communities.

Operation Consequences will continue over several months in the High Desert area and other jurisdictions around San Bernardino. The initiative involves personnel from multiple agencies including the Sheriff’s Gangs/Narcotics Division, Specialized Enforcement Division, patrol stations, California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino Police Department, San Bernardino County Probation, and Department of Homeland Security Investigations. Its goals are to reduce violent crime, disrupt criminal street gangs, and apprehend those illegally involved with firearms.
