The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department announced on April 6 that it conducted a targeted crime suppression operation, called Operation Consequences, across several cities including Adelanto, Apple Valley, Hesperia, Victorville, San Bernardino, Highland and Rialto between April 6 and April 12.
The operation aimed to address violent crime and quality-of-life issues by focusing on gang activity and illegal firearm possession. The initiative was funded by the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors to enhance law enforcement services throughout the county.
During the weeklong period, investigators from the Gangs/Narcotics Division worked with deputies from patrol stations and other agencies. They served seven search warrants and contacted suspects across the region. The department reported seizing six firearms—three of which were ghost guns—and making eleven felony arrests along with three misdemeanor arrests. Over two pounds of suspected narcotics were also confiscated during this time.
The operation included support from multiple agencies such as California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino Police Department, San Bernardino County Probation, and Homeland Security Investigations. “Operation Consequences will take place over the next several months to curb violent crime, disrupt and dismantle targeted criminal street gangs, and locate and arrest criminals who are illegally possessing, manufacturing, and trafficking firearms,” said Shannon D. Dicus.
