The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department announced on April 27 that investigators, deputies, and partnering agencies carried out Operation Consequences between April 27 and May 3. The operation involved serving 17 search warrants and contacting suspects in Victorville, San Bernardino, Yucaipa, Mentone, Upland, Ontario, Riverside, and Pomona.
Operation Consequences aims to address quality-of-life issues by targeting violent crime and criminal street gangs. Over the week-long period, law enforcement contacted gang members and individuals prohibited from possessing firearms. Authorities seized eight firearms—including three ghost guns—and made twelve felony arrests along with two misdemeanor arrests.
The department said the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors provided additional funding for county-wide crime suppression efforts. The funds allow for increased law enforcement services focused on community safety throughout the county.
Operation Consequences will continue over several months in areas such as the High Desert and regions under the sheriff’s jurisdiction around San Bernardino. Participating agencies include personnel from the Sheriff’s Gangs/Narcotics Division, Specialized Enforcement Division, patrol stations, California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino Police Department, San Bernardino County Probation Department, and Homeland Security Investigations.
Shannon D. Dicus holds the position of sheriff-coroner for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department according to the official website. The department serves a population exceeding 2.1 million residents through collaborative law enforcement services at its fifteen patrol stations and maintains a dispatch center handling numerous service calls according to the official website.
