Rep. Pete Aguilar, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 33rd district since 2015, has used his social media platform to criticize former President Donald Trump’s policies on taxes and foreign affairs in recent posts.
On April 15, 2026, Aguilar addressed tax policy, stating, “This Tax Day, families are getting 65% LESS in refunds than the additional $1,000 that Trump and Republicans promised. Instead of relief for working people, Trump’s Big Ugly Law gave massive tax breaks to billionaires and left the American people to foot the bill.”
Later that day, Aguilar commented on U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East: “Trump’s war with Iran is hurting everything—including our food supply. American families are already struggling to keep food on the table, and the President’s conflict in the Middle East is only going to make it worse.” This post linked concerns about international conflict directly to domestic economic pressures.
On April 16, 2026, Aguilar continued his criticism of Trump’s approach toward Iran: “Trump’s war with Iran has done nothing but cost taxpayers billions of dollars and drive up gas prices. House Democrats will keep fighting to hold Trump accountable, bring down costs and put an end to this senseless and costly conflict with Iran.”
Aguilar was born in Fontana, California in 1979 and currently resides in Redlands. He graduated from the University of Redlands in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Since replacing Gary Miller in Congress over a decade ago, Aguilar has been an active voice on fiscal and foreign policy issues.
