Rep. Pete Aguilar, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 33rd district since 2015, has recently voiced criticism of Republican-led initiatives in a series of posts on his official Twitter account.

On April 29, 2026, Aguilar commented on the Supreme Court’s decision regarding the Voting Rights Act, stating: “Today’s Supreme Court’s ruling on the Voting Rights Act is yet another Republican attempt to hold onto power, suppress voters and erode America’s democracy. This fight isn’t over. Democrats will not let Republicans turn back the clock and undo our country’s progress.”

The following day, April 30, 2026, Aguilar addressed concerns about the House Republicans’ Farm Bill: “House Republicans’ Farm Bill puts corporations first, farmers last, and rolls back basic food quality and animal welfare standards in the process. California has led the way in farm animal protection with Prop 12, and this bill will take us backwards. I’m voting NO.”

Later that same day, he criticized proposed increases in funding for immigration enforcement agencies: “Republicans are giving ICE and Border Patrol another $70 billion on top of the $140 billion from their Big Ugly Law. Yet they can’t find a dime to bring down the cost of Americans’ heathcare, gas or groceries. Shameful.”

Aguilar was born in Fontana, California in 1979 and currently resides in Redlands. He graduated from the University of Redlands in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
