Rep. Pete Aguilar, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 33rd district since 2015, has voiced criticism of federal immigration enforcement and the priorities of former President Donald Trump in a series of posts on social media.
On January 23, 2026, Aguilar stated, “ICE has aggressively targeted American citizens and law-abiding immigrant families. I voted no on the Homeland Security Appropriations bill.”
Later that day, he commented on policy differences between Democrats and Republicans, writing, “While Trump is more focused on invading Greenland or starting wars in foreign countries, House Democrats are laser-focused on lowering costs so that hardworking Americans can breathe easier.”
On January 24, 2026, Aguilar posted about an incident involving federal immigration officers: “Donald Trump and Kristi Noem’s out of control ICE agents have killed ANOTHER American citizen. These violent and untrained officers are endangering our communities. Local authorities must investigate and fully prosecute those responsible for this heinous crime.”
Aguilar was born in Fontana, California in 1979 and currently resides in Redlands. He graduated from the University of Redlands in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He succeeded Gary Miller as representative for California’s 33rd district.
