Rep. Pete Aguilar, who has represented California’s 33rd district in the U.S. Congress since 2015, posted a series of statements on social media regarding recent actions by federal agencies and ongoing healthcare policy issues.

On January 25, 2026, Aguilar wrote, “Today Americans across the country watched ICE agents assault and kill a nurse, Alex Pretti. DHS is lying about what happened and wants you to look away. Don’t.”

Two days later, on January 26, 2026, he continued his criticism of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), stating: “DHS is completely out of control and lawless agents are brutalizing communities across the country. The cruelty and chaos coming out of this Administration are nothing short of dangerous and deadly. Kristi Noem must resign or be fired.”

Addressing healthcare policy on January 27, 2026, Aguilar shared: “I held a press conference at the Unicare Community Health Center in San Bernardino to highlight the impacts of the Republican health care crisis on the Inland Empire and to call on Trump and Senate Republicans to immediately restore the expired Affordable Care Act tax credits.”

Aguilar was born in Fontana, California in 1979 and currently resides in Redlands. He graduated from the University of Redlands with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2001.
